Pure Mortgage Growth was built from inside the mortgage business to solve a simple problem: brokers need a better way to create consistent opportunities without becoming marketers themselves. Mortgage knowledge first. Marketing built around it.
Mortgage brokers are trained to understand financing, solve borrower problems and close transactions. Very few are ever taught how to build a predictable system for creating new opportunities.
It wasn't created as an idea for another marketing agency. It grew from solving the acquisition problems that existed inside the business itself.
I'm Rick Bettencourt. I've spent 30 years in the financial services industry, with experience across the investment business, insurance and mortgage lending.
That background gave me a broader view of the financial business than mortgages alone — how clients make decisions, how financial products are positioned and, eventually, how business is generated.
Pure Mortgage Growth didn't start because I wanted to open a marketing agency. It started because I wanted to solve a problem inside my own mortgage business: how do you consistently create new mortgage opportunities without spending your entire day becoming a marketer?
Solving that problem pushed me into advertising, video, landing pages, websites, lead generation, conversion, automation and AI. These were not abstract marketing exercises. I was building them to create business inside an actual mortgage operation.
Eventually it became clear that the advantage was not any individual advertisement, platform or piece of technology. The advantage was having all of those pieces working together as one acquisition system.
That system became the Mortgage Growth Engine.
Pure Mortgage Growth is the result of combining decades of financial services experience with the tools required to create demand in a modern mortgage business.
Working in the investment business created an early understanding of financial products, client behaviour, risk, trust and the importance of explaining complex financial decisions clearly.
Insurance added another perspective on financial advice, client needs and how different financial products fit into a broader financial strategy.
Mortgage lending brought together borrowers, real estate, credit, income, lender guidelines and financial strategy in a highly practical environment.
Paid advertising became a practical way to reach homeowners dealing with specific mortgage problems rather than simply waiting for new business.
Websites, automation, video and AI dramatically increased the ability to research, build, test and improve without requiring a traditional agency structure.
Strategy, creative, advertising, conversion and measurement eventually became one connected acquisition platform — the Mortgage Growth Engine.
We start with the client, the financial problem, the mortgage opportunity and the economics of the business. The marketing is built around that.
Thirty years across investments, insurance and mortgages creates a different perspective on how people make important financial decisions.
A campaign has to connect a real borrower situation to a realistic financing solution.
The system should free the broker to advise clients and close mortgages, not turn them into a full-time marketer.
Marketing ultimately has to create enough funded business to justify the investment required to generate it.
More impressions and website visitors are not the objective. The system should create mortgage opportunities that can become clients.
Decide what borrower, problem and market you are pursuing before spending money distributing the message.
Strong campaigns speak directly to recognizable borrower problems rather than trying to advertise every service to everyone.
Repeatable acquisition infrastructure creates more value than disconnected marketing tasks.
Marketing needs to connect back to qualified opportunities, funded mortgages and actual business economics.
If you want an acquisition system built by someone who understands both the financial business and what happens after the lead arrives, let's talk.
